The celebration, held on October 3, was organised by SCRP, the Friends of St Margarets Station, and Amyand Park Road residents.
Attendees included the Mayor of Richmond, Nancy Baldwin; managing director of SWR/NR Wessex, Lawrence Bowman; and the Minister of State for Rail, Lord Hendy, who arrived on a heritage Routemaster bus.
Sidonie Forrest-Brown, chair of the Hounslow Richmond Community Rail Partnership, said: “What made the day so special was the huge support and enthusiasm of everyone involved, and I really would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the event such a success, especially Rachel Morrison, Anna Stearman, and Angela Ivey.”
A highlight of the day was the unveiling of a new mural, created in collaboration with three local schools, artist Will Parker, and Turner’s House.
The Friends of St Margarets Station were also recognised for their planting efforts, receiving a London In Bloom ‘Celebration Stations’ award.
The event featured children’s games, an exhibition of the history of St Margarets Station by local residents, and a display of children’s artwork in the waiting room on platform one, concluding with a community singalong of Happy Birthday.
