
South west London, which includes Croydon, Sutton, Merton, Lambeth, Kingston-upon-Thames, Richmond-upon-Thames and Wandsworth, saw an overall rise in reported crime in April.
A total of 12,338 offences were logged in April, up 0.8 per cent recorded in April.
Lambeth recorded the highest number of offences in April, with 3,181 crimes reported, just one less crime than the number reported in April.
Theft was the most common offence in the borough, with 1,186 incidents, followed by violence against the person with 819 reports.
Vehicle crime saw 245 offences recorded.
There were also 176 cases of arson and criminal damage, 175 public order offences, 150 robberies and 134 burglaries.
Croydon had the second-highest crime total, with 2,848 offences in April.
As in Lambeth, violence against the person and theft were the most frequently recorded crimes, with 927 and 682 reports, respectively.
Vehicle offences were the next most common at 313, followed by 192 cases of arson and criminal damage.
Wandsworth ranked third, with 2,179 offences reported during the month.
The borough recorded 627 incidents of violence against the person and 587 theft offences, alongside 232 vehicle crimes.
Arson and criminal damage, burglaries and public order offences had 130, 143, and 145 cases respectively.
Sutton was next in the rankings, with 1,141 offences reported in April.
This included 409 cases of violence against the person, 235 thefts and 124 vehicle offences.
Police also recorded 86 public order offences and 78 incidents of arson and criminal damage.
In Merton, 1,094 offences were recorded in April.
The most common crimes were violence against the person, with 349 reports, and theft, with 309.
Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames recorded the lowest crime levels in south west London during April.
Richmond saw 970 offences, including 246 cases of violence against the person and 239 thefts.
Kingston recorded 925 offences, making it the borough with the lowest total.
This was the first month this year where Richmond wasn’t the borough with the least recorded amount of crime.
